Simon Field | More obvious garnet evolution, auburn, thinning a little on top. Nose is a little volatile, saddle leather, even a touch acetic? This intrudes all the way through the declamation, and there is just a touch of bitterness on the finish. | 84
Andrew Jefford | Dark, black-red. An oaky wine that now smells minty and mature—like mint toffee mingled with the settled red fruits. Lots of oak here. It’s deep, warm, round, soft, and sweetly generous in the mouth—a true success, and showing its age attractively. But there is a deal of oak here, and I would love to have been able to taste the wine at the same age without that veneer. | 89
Anthony Rose | Distinctly evolved now in color, the fruit is prune-sweet, self-evidently Malbec, but just starting to show its age in a hint of oxidation. This indicates that this reached the top of the hill a little while ago, and there’s no turning back now. | 84
