Andrew Jefford | Pale silver-gold. Fresh, sappy, and lively, full of spring leaf and grapefruit. Pure, long, and pungent, and there is a petrichor note here, too. Spot-on classicism. Dry, long, refined, and elegant, very much the soprano Riesling, but the wine has lovely core and depth and drive and length, though there are more multilayered wines in this tasting. It tastes to me like Protestant Alsace and maybe limestone, but I’m probably wrong! Very good, whatever. | 93
Stephan Reinhardt | Canned-fruit aromas, such as pineapples and honeydew melons, emerge from the glass filled with this Riesling, which is clear, precise, and elegant on the polished, pretty reductive nose. Vital, enormously fresh and mineral on the palate, yet still tight and closed, with grip but only an ascetic fruit, this is a Protestant dry Riesling, withatight and salty, currently somewhat astringent finish. Very young, this still slightly austere wine should open up after some years in the bottle. 2027–40. | 92
Anthony Rose | Pale lime-green in color, this is pleasingly fresh and floral in aroma, albeit still a tad quiet, there’s faint lees-derived prickle on the tongue and attractively intense, richly concentrated fruit that’s quite glossily textured on the tongue, the flavors lingering for quite some time thanks to a tang of minerally saltiness that lengthens the wine and leads it to a fine, dry finish. | 93
