BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Full, bright mid-gold with straw glints. Warm, round, and enticing, though with fruit compote notes rather than fresh, pristine fruits. Still full of life, though: harmonious, mellow, expressive, and fragrant. A lovely rose spice beneath the fruits, too. Mellow, rich, and deep: the fruits have rounded out now but remain intense, long, and vivacious; the wine has honeyed, fragrant floral depths, as well as a wide spectrum of fruits. A fine effort, with a long, concentrated, and resonant finish. | 93

Anthony Rose | Mid-gold in color. Mature, evolved; this is showing golden-oldie notes of ripe apple pie and spice both in its aromatic profile and in its flavors, which, while clearly evolving into a second phase of maturity, are just starting to oxidize into bruised apple. But the textural grip and minerally acidity bring life and energy to a venerable elder statesperson. | 89
