Andrew Jefford | Full bright gold. Warm and rich, with rose petal framing the apple, peach, and orange-skin perfumes. Dense, deep, searching, and long, with dramatic intensity and acidic force, yet enough ripeness to carry all that fruit perfume and aromatic richness. Very impressive, just sharpening and thinning a little toward the finish. | 91
Anthony Rose | A developed mid-golden color suggests the likelihood of new French oak, and sure enough, there’s no shortage of smoky oak in the aromas of this wine. And while the oak is stylish and well handled, there’s enough citrus-zesty fruit to suggest that it will start to be absorbed in due course. But at this stage it’s so smokily dominant that it’s a little hard to see the wine for the tree. Patience and time required for what could turn out to be a very good wine with a year or two’s aging. | 90
