BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | finesse and freshness, with very pure fruit. The tannins are well integrated, but present. The wine, though it doesn’t have the power of recent vintages, shines for its perfect balance. | 18

Michael Schuster | On the nose, a marked minerality to the fore, rather than ripe fruit as such, typical of the balance of the best of this year: elegant, moderately concentrated, very finely tannic, with a fresh but not incisive acidity. Sweet-cored, vital, very mineral in aromas; long and subtle without being dense or particularly complex, and with great, perfumed length. A refined, restrained, cool but not austere Pétrus, with all the fragrance of the best of the year. Likely to have considerable charm when mature. 2020–30. | 17.5
