Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red—almost seems darker than the Tourelles at this stage. Some aromatic warmth here, and spice: black fruits with a whiff of tartare beef steak. Exuberant and attractive. Deep, fresh, clean, frank Cabernet fruits, with plenty of bone structure for the vintage and some soft tannin cladding. Better ripeness than for many of its peers gives this wine balance and assurance. | 90
Michael Schuster | Crisply blackcurrant ripe to smell; medium-full, fairly concentrated, firm in both acidity and tannin. A somewhat muscular medium-weight, with plenty of matter and flavor within its lightly chewy structural frame. Long and complex for a second wine but requiring time. And quite how it will turn out in the end is not clear. But it’s worth a punt for sure. 2028–40+. | 89
