BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red in appearance (though a little less deep than Diane de Belgrave I have alongside it). Sweet, soft blackcurrant and damson to smell. Shy but appealing. Very fruity, with little central palate mass or texture, but the acidity is held in check, there is no green rawness, and it is fresh young blackcurrant that tingles the taste buds so. Remarkable concentration, style, and drive: cool, aquiline, impressive. | 87

Michael Schuster | Lightly gravelly nose; a crisp lightweight with a very little tannin. Pleasant redcurrant flavor, modest fruit, its acidity rendering it a touch austere for the moment, but with a nice light length. There is clear finesse here, and it is good wine, but there is a slight leanness all the same. Give it a year or two, anyway. 2023–27. | 86
