Andrew Jefford | Deep garnet-red in color, translucent at the core. Delicate yet attractive on the nose, with some appealing meatiness and earthiness to fill out and dignify the ripe, faintly baked damson and plum fruits. All very deftly drawn. Deep, vivid, and intense plum and damson, as in the aromatic profile; soft tannins, though less textured (the combination of fruit flesh and tannins) than some. Just a little raisin- sweetness in the damson and plum toward the end of the palate. | 89
Michael Schuster | There is plenty of ripe fruit to smell here; elegantly balanced medium-full wine, fresh in acidity, dry in tannin; a fine, delicate St-Emilion fruit core rather dominated by a dry, distracting tannin. Long and fine and transparent at its heart, mouth-coatingly aromatic, with a really lovely fragrance. If only there weren’t that ruinously dry texture, this would be gorgeous. Will need years because of the dry wood tannins, which look unlikely ever to be fully absorbed, resolved. 2030–40+. | 92
