Stephen Brook | Smoky cherry aromas, and it shows considerable aromatic lift. Fresh and zesty on the palate, with good acidity beneath the fruit. Yet there is something pinched and tart here, as though the grapes fell just short of full ripeness. It’s bracing and lively, though lacking some generosity on the finish. Quite long. | 86

Andrew Jefford | Clear dark black-red. Warm, well-matured aromas of stone, tobacco leaf, and warm bark, though without much evident fruit on the nose. Plenty of fruit on the palate, though, in energetic though rather piercingly acidic style. Little tannin or central palate wealth, but the wine is admirably concentrated. | 86

Michael Palij | Clean, medium intensity, red fruit including redcurrant, tinned strawberry, tobacco leaf. On the palate, sultana and black olive join the party. Tannins and acidity are both present but balanced by the fruit, and texturally this is nicely judged. The length is good and the dusty tannins pull everything together. Attractive, to drink over the next five years. | 94
