Stephen Brook | Rich apple compote nose, with an unexpected opulence. This shows a broad style, lush rather than precise, but it has ample fruit and sufficient if not exceptional acidity. There’s a mineral undertow, but it doesn’t have as much vigor and pep as one would hope for. There’s some solidity in the finish, which has modest acidity and length. | 89
Simon Field | Blond tobacco color, plenty of legs stretching from a watery rim. Aromatics focus on pineapple, banana even, clotted cream, albeit diluted by discretion. The palate opens up more generously, Marsanne weight, glue and pears, pepper and quinine, in sharp focus. Grip on the back is excellent, and the capacity to evolve and grow is undeniable. Zander or turbot matches maybe; white meat even. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Corked [a different bottle from that tasted by SB and SF]. | NS
