Stephen Brook | The nose is seductive with ripe apple aromas without any cooked tones. It’s creamy, but there’s solid acidity beneath the fruit. It’s broad-shouldered without being heavy. Although the acidity is restrained, this doesn’t lack structure and cut. Perhaps there’s a lack of persistence on the finish, but there’s some grandeur and weight of fruit to compensate. | 92
Simon Field | Lively lemon, bright; nose shared between spice, zesty almost mandarin fruit, sourdough, and something of the boudoir. The palate stays in a similar location, soapy and spicy at the same time, a little compromised in terms of focus and purity, but not without a linear profile and a hint of salinity on the finish to decorate the edifice. | 88
Andrew Jefford | Bright mid-gold. Like [Chapoutier St- Péray Les Tanneurs], there are some oxidative notes here: low sulfur? Fruit compote. I can’t say I find it hugely appealing, though it is Zeitgeisty. Very much as the nose. Actually, I think this is a good and true wine, but the oxidative notes just play too much of a role in its aesthetic personality. It is concentrated, pure, and clean in other respects and has good depths. | 87
