Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Soundly fruited, and very well-rounded. It doesn’t have the almost shocking focus of the best of its peers, but there is ample comforting classicism here. Deep, sound, poised, and resonant on the palate, with deep-drawn resources of almost crisp blackcurrant fruit. A little more aromatic finesse would have lifted it still further. | 91
Michael Schuster | A subtle, persistent, blackcurrant and gravel nose; very nicely balanced, rich, medium-full wine, freshly defined by its acidity, and with a firm tannic frame; sweetly ripe, long and fine-textured to taste, classy St-Julien with excellent length, but with a long-term structure, requiring (and rewarding!) time. 2032–45+. | 92+
