Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red to scarlet at the rim. Lots of beguiling sweet-fruited purity here: lifted plum and black cherry, with some fruit blossom. Just a little root-spice behind. The spirit of the vintage has been beautifully captured in this wine’s aromas... and flavors; this is a welterweight St-Emilion of great precision and aromatic finesse. Acidity does all the work of structuring the wine rather than tannins, which are fine and silky here. Yet the depth of fruit is impressive, and will certainly see the wine through a decade and a half of cellar softening and opening. | 91
Michael Schuster | Deep and oaky to smell; rich, powerful and tannic; a wine of considerable presence in terms of both intensity of flavor and tannic texture; deep and ripe and tasty, clearly aromatic and complex, but with its force and fire (for a palate like mine) also very present; long and chewy, almost a meal in itself, and with excellent persistence. Fine wine, no question, you just have to be aware of its forceful character, too. Long-term. 2035–50+. | 92
