Michael Schuster | A blackberry and blackcurrant fruit blend to smell, withatouch of Mouton char; beautifully balanced, full-bodied, nicely concentrated, freshly defined, firm in tannin; a deep, darkly ripe blackcurrant Cabernet core, long and graceful and gently fleshily textured within its fine tannin frame, seductive in texture, with a fine aromatic race and complexity, long and gently gravelly in aromas to finish. A notably fine, complete d’Armailhac. Like the Clerc Milon last year, this is a new benchmark for the property, looking right up to (and beyond?) its fine 2016. 2028–40+.
