Michael Schuster | Pale gold; dense to smell, with subtle, fresh Sauvignon-gooseberry and the merest hint of new wood; full, generous, supple wine; deep, dry, fleshy white with more matter, if less immediate vitality but more fruit weight, than the Clémentin; ample and mouthfilling, nicely tenacious across the palate, subtly gravelly in aromas, and with fine, lightly aromatic length. A large-scale dry white, but without any heaviness. Will be interesting to see how this ages. Very different in character (with exactly the same grape variety proportions) from the Clémentin. 2022–29+?
