Michael Schuster | A dense, contained, ripe blackcurrant and mineral nose; full, compact, fresh, and firmly tannic, a beautifully composed, restrained balance; effortlessly rich, ripely dry, full of discreet Graves gravel aromas, long and graceful, packed with flavor in the most subtle way; a very long and complex palate, all framed and supported by a particularly velvet-fine tannin, and finished with a prolonged aftertaste, full of fine Cabernet Sauvignon-fruit resonsance, and pronounced but superfine Pessac gravelly aromas. A notably aristocratic performance and a wonderful wine to contemplate for those who will be lucky enough to have it in their cellars. Quel vin! The finest Haut-Bailly I can remember tasting. 2030–55+.
