Michael Schuster | Tight and restrained to smell, Cabernet “ripe” without being particularly “sweet” and marked by a subtle new-wood cedar and gravel- ground aromas—stylish! Rich, full, fresh, firmly but finely tannic; very ripe in flavor, ample in proportions, warm, sweet, juicy, mouthfilling, all within a firm, currently slightly oak-dry tannin; long across the palate, close-grained and complex and aromatic, long, fruit-cored and gravel-scented to finish. A fairly powerful expression of the vineyard, but plenty of scope there, and the track- record shows that these do age gracefully given plenty of time. While doubtless approachable earlier, I’d leave it for well over a decade. Powerful wine, lovely wine. 2030–45+.
