Michael Schuster | Dense, persistent, subtle, and complex nose with a noticeable core sweetness, intense and full of promise; rich, elegant, finely but firmly tannic, with touch of new-oak-tannin texture there; sweet-cored, elegant, long, and fine to taste, subtly aromatic, subtly mouthcoating, a most attractive combination of ripe fruit and aromatic complexity; long, restrained, even, very stylish, and with lovely fruit-cored persistence. Most complete Certan de May, where the high proportion of Cabernet Franc shows as a marked aromatic scope and fragrance. Very nice indeed. Fine but firm tannins suggest waiting at least a decade. 2030–50+.
