Michael Schuster | As in the Domaine des Cambes, plummy fruit, with the characteristic suggestion of prune, and with the merest hint of Cabernet edge to it, also headily “come-hither”; very full-bodied, fresh, firmly but finely tannic; rich and generous in flavor, long and close-grained to taste, full of subtly Cabernet-cassis tempered black-fruit ripe Merlot; aromatic, mouthcoating, long across the palate, and very long in gently warm fruit and aroma persistence. Powerful but in no way aggressive, and remarkably elegant and complete Côtes de Bourg. Will need time to mellow and, just as important, to “bouquet.” 2027–45+.
