Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Very fresh nose, with a most agreeable hint of red peppers—what you expect of a wine containing such a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. Full-bodied and all round excellent; plainly an improvement on the 2005 and 2006 in terms of aromatic purity and finesse. Sure to offer excellent value for money. 17

Michael Schuster: Dense, blackberry-ripe fruit on the nose with a clear, light minerality; very nicely balanced rich, elegant middleweight with a fresh acidity and finely judged tannin; long, sweet, core of subtle, savory ripe fruit; fresh, mouth-coating, and with fine, fragrant length. Lovely, complete, medium- to long-term Lagrange. 2016–30. 16/16.5+
