Bruno Besa | Golden straw. Mature, clean, with some oak, yellow fruits, and aromatic herbs. Firm palate, fairly balanced by the complex minerality. Long, with a vanilla-pod finish. | 89
Andrew Jefford | The age has given this wine a bright, almost glowing, golden hue. Some oak? Rich and creamy; attractive. This works. Lush, full, textured, and creamy. Vermentino for me isn’t really a wine for oaking, but I appreciate that the local market will want oaked versions, and this is successful and has been very well done. But what you relish in it is oak and age, well supported. The delicate shy fruits go missing. | 89
Michael Palij | Mature, with an oaky note of clove and cinnamon allied to tropical notes and a viscous mouthfeel. This is certainly an interesting glass of white, but the winemaking dominates the fruit, and there really isn’t much here to celebrate. The wine is attenuated on the finish. | 84
