Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Reduction on the nose detracts from an appreciation of other aromatic qualities it may have. Resniffed after 15 minutes, and the reduction had diminished, leaving not very much in its place. Soft, not especially concentrated, rather slack, with low acidity. A rather lazy wine, with all its component parts but little zest or flair. The tannins are grainy and rather obtrusive since the fruit lacks intensity. Finishes rather flat, with only moderate length of flavor. 13.5
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Reduced. After 15 minutes, clears to reveal a meaty, solid aromatic profile and even some perfumed charm. Decanting essential. Solid, generous, ripe, sweet-edged though not hugely complex. Some of the greenness of the vintage comes through in the finish, which cools and tapers quickly, though without vitiating the whole. 14
Michael Schuster: Earth and farmyard nose. Well balanced, quite fleshy, but with a fairly firm tannic surround. Modest, savory, mineral-backed, Cabernet fruit, medium length. Satisfying and solid, if not particularly fine. 2012–20+. 15+
