Simon Field | Restrained of color, yet intense in the mouth; rich, raisined fruit and hints of woodsmoke and eucalyptus. There is, once again, a hint of volatility on the palate, but the weight is impressive, and the rich, darkly seductive fruit is rigorously defined and pure of construction, with a balletic herbal backdrop adding to the complexity. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Dark but not opaque black-red. Soft, attractive, and warm, with some perfumed orangey freshness, as well as the gentle strawberry and cherry richness. Subtle, carefully crafted aromas without excess; an outstanding aromatic profile. Rich, full, chocolaty fruits, low acidity, generous tannins, yet vinified with more precision than some of its Sardinian peers and, as a consequence, a very serious contender, with real Grenache nobility to it. Despite the innate generosity, this has been fashioned in an elegant, articulate, and approachable form, and given its aromatic subtleties, it’s worth a look for all Grenache lovers. Super wine. | 91
David Williams | Almost an LBV Port quality to the fruit character here (or perhaps the fortified Grenache of Roussillon and Empordà would be a better point of comparison): chestnuts, dried fig, and incense, plus the beginnings of savory maturity, even something rancio. Eccentric, but full of Mediterranean character. | 90
