BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | Light, quite sallow color; appley aromatic, late-season orchard fruit at the very least. Gently spritzy, quite lively palate, but lacks concentration or tannic backdrop to feature among the highest echelons. Intriguing, for all that. | 87

Andrew Jefford | Bright pale clear rosehip-red. A sweet, almost milky fragrance in which cherry and pomegranate meet sugar-dusted strawberry, though there is a little rosehip-like austerity there, too. Very autumnal and alluring; fragrance-like. Smooth, fine, light in terms of fruit weight, indeed almost gossamer, with the allusions drifting between cherry, strawberry, pomegranate and rosehip once again. Relatively modest acidity levels but generous tannins, and overall the wine has a commanding and mouth-filling quality as a consequence of those tannins. The tannins (whole-bunch) are resonant and flavorful in their own right. Serious, gastronomic wine of unique style—indeed, I’d say a world original. Gorgeous drinking. | 93

David Williams | Pale color, with an intriguing, and dominant, fennel/licorice character. On the palate this is slinky and supple but with no little tannin. Wild, earthy, fun, and very easy to drink—although best to do that sooner rather than later, I reckon. | 89
