Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Dense blackberry nose, a touch stewed. Supple, silky, ingratiating, very concentrated but no trace of heaviness, and some brisk acidity to lift the wine. There isn’t great depth here, but the fruit quality is beguiling and the balance impressive. It will make fine medium-term drinking and give great pleasure. 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Warm, savory, and inviting, though lacks aromatic focus. Lively, fresh, and full, amply tannic, spicy, and long. Still Margaux in the way that perfumed fruit forms the core of the wine, but with a chorus line behind it. A success for the vintage—fully ripe. Little subtlety, complexity, or nuance, however. 14.5
Michael Schuster: On the nose, a seductive combination of ripe fruit and quality new oak; nicely balanced, with attractively ripe, delicate Margaux fruit, plus good length; very ripe, oaky style, but not excessive. 2012–25. 15.5+
