Simon Field | Cool-ferment aromas, with hints of boiled sweets and tinned pears. Litchi and raspberry thereafter, the winemaking dictating the terms and forcing a broader lexicon, far from standard from this parched backdrop. | 82
Andrew Jefford | Bright gold. Clean and fresh, though more neutral than its cohort of Xynisteris; not at all unpleasant, however. Clean and fresh on the palate, too, with ample lemony poise. Totally acceptable and, in its way, totally beguiling, too. You could see it would be perfect with food; it’s structured and long, bright and pungent, keen and fresh. There’s a hint of stone afterward. But I find it hard to give this a really top score, since it just doesn’t have the levels of articulacy and allusion that those other wines have. It is a brilliant Mediterranean white, nonetheless, and I feel almost guilty for demanding even more of it. | 90
Demetri Walters | Quite a vinous Xynisteri, with altogether restrained hints of white melon and peach. Balancing tartness and notable freshness. Notable extract, but overall a light and elegant wine with notable complexity. | 92
