Simon Field | A toasty Chardonnay enters the fray, its ripe and forthright aromatic and effortlessly rounded palate jolting one from a Homeric Mediterranean reverie. Whether or not one might wish for such a jolt is another matter entirely. The wine is not without appeal, yet there is a slightly cloying structure, with notes approaching marmalade and barley sugar, hardly worthy of either varietal or its assumed provenance. | 85
Andrew Jefford | Bright gold, with clean, well-handled Chardonnay vanilla richness on the nose. Much better than many inexpensive southern- hemisphere equivalents in aroma. Sound but simple on the palate. | 81
Demetri Walters | Attractively herbal and sappy on the nose. Sweet-fruited on the palate, with white melon and delicate grapefruit. Quite modest acidity, though juicy, ripe, and showing really nice use of wood. An ambitious and altogether successfully made wine. | 92
