BUY THE WINE

Neil Beckett | Although most of the wines of this well- resourced and resurgent producer (a member of CA Grands Crus) are from the Côte de Beaune or Côte Chalonnaise, it is exciting to see what the experienced new manager, Jean-Philippe Archambaud, and talented young winemaker, François des Moutis, formerly at Domaine de la Vougeraie, are able to do in the Côte de Nuits. From lieu-dit Champerrier-du-Dessus, this is an hors classe village wine, even for Gevrey in this vintage. Medium-deep ruby. A very exuberant, fresh, and mineral nose, but with fully ripe red and black fruit and light spice (3 of the 12 barrels were new, a perfect proportion on this showing). Very good harmony and intensity on the palate, and a superb quality of tannin for the level, very fine-spun, silky, and supple, but with gentle grip and proper structure, too. Outstanding. | 91–92
