Neil Beckett | Medium-deep ruby. Very classically correct scent: mineral rectitude but not at all forbidding or intimidating, healthy and ripe (even if harvested the first week of September), with a light spice (one of the four barrels was new). Recognizably Clos de Vougeot, but perhaps more remarkable for its approachability and elegance than its intensity or profundity, thanks to the benign vintage. | 92–93
