Andrew Jefford: Deep red-scarlet. Sweet, warm, and enticing, with lots of lush raspberry, strawberry, and red-plum richness backed by Szechuan pepper and anis (the Alsace exoticism again). Some oak. You have to revise your expectations from other forms of Pinot classicism, but by its own lights this is very attractive. Round, warm, deep, and lively on the palate, though relatively soft, with little shaping tannin. A comfortable, round-contoured, spice- laden, softly fruity Pinot to relax with soon. | 89
Jasper Morris: Solid medium-deep color with a lighter rim. Some immediately evident strawberry notes keep the olfactory senses alert. This is not one of the deeper denser wines, but the fruit engages very nicely. Good to drink in the fairly near future. | 87
Catherine Petrie: Medium ruby with a very slightly cloudy rim. The nose is charming, enticing, and aromatic, scented by sweet wild strawberries and spiced by some toasty oak notes. Hints of stewed rhubarb remind me of a New Zealand Pinot Noir, or a wine with a high proportion of whole bunch. Like some others in the Alsace flight, there is quite a lot of promise on the nose, but the palate falls away quickly after a good start. It feels like the concentration is all on the aromatic side of the wine, but inadequate in its structural substance. Nevertheless, a nice glass, easy to enjoy.| 87
