Bruno Besa | Deep ruby to pink. Open, mature, cherry and red-apple nose, with hints of tar, smoke, violets, and minerals. Medium to full body, with layered tannins, sweet red fruit, and long, clean finish. A touch ripe, but super-well-made for moderate cellaring. | 91

Andrew Jefford | Clear, deep black-red. Sweet and warm, with a savory style; little primary fruit left here. Very clear and limpid, though, with no false notes. There is a sweetness, too, though one that is almost a function of the wine’s savory side; quiet and submissive rather than overt. Not a shouting wine on the nose; more whispering, but promising and qualitative. Vivid, fresh, and light, but there is great grace and charm on the palate; the wine is seamless, round, and full. Verbena, pomegranate arils, redcurrants, and cranberries—but all so subtle that you might consider the allusions fanciful. Harmonious and serene; delicious. Not a long-term thruster... though in truth, few 2015 wines are. Gorgeous fruit qualities here. | 93

Michael Palij | An interesting glass of Barolo, with hedgerow notes of hawthorn and baked fruit including blackberry crumble and black cherry. The palate is lovely—a textbook Barolo, with pleasantly dusty tannins and firm acidity leading the way. The fruit provides a perfect counterpoint with a dense core of olive, preserved cherry, and plum on a long finish. | 92
