Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. A touch closed on the nose, with small red fruits, leather, rose water, and Mediterranean herbs. Medium to full body, layered, refined tannins, clean, with red and black fruit. Long and mineral finish. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Clear, translucent, dark scarlet-red-russet in color. Quiet, calm, rather dry-leafy aromas, with little fruit, but intricate and attractive in that style. The palate is authoritative and dramatic: brightly acidic yet glycerous and succulent (only Nebbiolo can manage that), with a savory tone to the autumnal fruits and brisk tannins; ample length, too. It will never be the most charming or seductive wine of the vintage, but classicists will love this, I think. | 90
Michael Palij | Rich, spicy, slightly jammy nose, showing black plum, rose, and tinned strawberries. Also notes of blackberry and vanilla. The palate is broad and the acidity less than expected. A very forward style crafted for pleasurable, early drinking. | 87
