BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Intense, complex, slightly rustic nose, with aromatic herbs, small red fruits, rose water, violets, and oriental spices. Medium body, with intense and layered red-fruit character. A touch dried-out fruit on the finish. | 90

Andrew Jefford | Light, clear, and translucent, with some russet now in evidence. A candied cranberry scent, though slightly moist and constrained in style, as if the fruits have been sealed up for a day or two. That moist, constrained style is present on the palate, too, though this is a concentrated and forthright wine in other ways, with firm, pushy tannins and lively, swelling acidity. | 87

Michael Palij | The nose is very medicinal, with tarry balsamic notes, hospital bandages, and iodine. A touch of brett? Finishes well, but this lean aromatic profile seems to rob it of some depth. | 83
