Nicolas Belfrage | Deep yellow-gold. Scented, almost Muscat-style nose. Dry and biscuity for flavor, little or no residual sugar. Yeasty and weighty, with a certain grasso [fat] to it. Not a quaffing wine, needs food. Complex and individual. | 91
Bruno Besa | Brilliant straw to golden. Intense, ripe yellow- plum and ripe-apricot nose, with lemon peel and hints of toasted nuts. A slightly overripe palate, yet fairly long, with a clean, mineral finish. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Bright, gleaming, relatively full gold for this variety and origin. Very fruity, developed aromas: almost a fruit salad, with some tropical slices as well as some European orchard slices. Plus some of the “fruit essence” scent of a dried-fruit paste snack bar. Sweetly upfront; highly engaging. On the palate, it is much as the aromas suggested: sappy, full, vividly fruity, with some tropical notes. It’s not as poised and finessed as the very best, but this is an exuberant Pinot Grigio, which no one could accuse of characterlessness. | 88
