BUY THE WINE

Essi Avellan: Medium-deep cherry-salmon color. Evolving red-berry nose, with lots of primary fruit and gentle spiciness. Winey, fleshy palate, where fruit carries until the end. Takes its brut nature character very well. Mellow phenolics at the back palate. | 88

Simon Field: Deep salmon color, a rich nose of raspberry compote and even liqueur de cassis. The palate is vinous, finely etched, and poised; the finish tapers a little, however, and there is a hardness, too. | 86

Tom Stevenson: Dull color, a touch of brown. Very ordinary fruit, lacks energy. Disappointing. | 74
