BUY THE WINE

Essi Avellan: Deep orange-hued color. Nice toasty evolution and plenty of plush red-berry fruitiness. Really spicy fruit on the lush, sweetly fruity palate. Viscous and winey, but pleasantly soft in tannin. Dry but balanced finish. | 89

Simon Field: Lively color, amber going on russet, maturity implied. The fruit character is a little disappointing, a touch stewed and foursquare. Generosity is not forthcoming, and the finish seems rather hard-nosed. | 85

Tom Stevenson: Anjou color; lacks clarity, no freshness, and dull fruit. | 72
