Andrew Jefford | Deep and dark, though translucent. Lovely balance, focus, and sense of repose in the aromatic profile, the blackcurrants and the plums qualified by some incense spice and warm sealing wax. Graceful and enticing. Terrific ripeness for the vintage on the palate, too: rounded, graceful, poised, and complete, though neither super- concentrated nor particularly tannic. The acidity is ripe and harmonious, and if you are looking for St- Estèphe flavors in a wine of disposition rather than accumulation, then here is the place to look. It will drink terrifically well over the medium term. | 92
Michael Schuster | Subtly ripe-fruited to smell, with a gravel hint behind; a fine balance, fresh, finely tannic, medium-weight claret; freshly ripe, subtly gravelly in aromas, long, aromatic, refined, graceful, and with excellent persistence; a lovely, if not grand, Calon. Not the core concentration of the best of 2015, but a very fine wine all the same. | 93
