Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Very warm, enticing, and glowing, with in truth much better purity and fruit definition than many of its St-Estèphe peers. Some fine leather behind. The 2015 St-Estèphe acidity is lurking fairly prominently on the palate, like a bouncer at a nightclub door, but once inside you’ll find the wine has plenty of nooks and crannies and that the concentrated fruit is deep and engaging. Plenty to like over the short to medium term. | 88
Michael Schuster | Fresh, ripe-fruited nose; lively, medium-full wine, with a firm tannin; lightly flavory but without the fruit core of the best of this year. A touch of austerity still from both the acid and the tannin, so leave for a few years, but there’s a nice light length here. 2021–27+. | 87
