Andrew Jefford | Clear to mid-black-red in color. There’s more wealth of aroma to Clerc Milon than to d’Armailhac this year, but in terms of complexity the two wines are close; this has a hint of menthol, camphor, and other sprain-ointment plant essences, which d’Armailhac didn’t. In the mouth it is very lively and ripely acidic. It’s relatively slender in texture but amply concentrated. On the palate, too, the blackcurrant fruits carry cool medicinal allusions. | 89
Michael Schuster | Gently mineral nose, still fairly closed; fresh, firmly tannic, medium-full wine; rich and sinewy at once, both fleshy and firm; freshly sweet, spicy, complex, aromatic, and with very good length. Generosity to come, given sufficient bottle age. 2028–40+. | 91+
