Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Soft and graceful, and quite sweet-toned for the vintage, too; ample ripeness promised, though with nothing raisiny. A touch of dry reed rather than any fresh leafiness: enticing overall. This has good depth and density, and a more mouth-coating quality than many of its St-Julien peers. Grown-up flavors, too, and soft supporting tannins. Acidity is still the key structuring note; though brisk, it is ripe. This is an appetizing and drinkable Talbot for the medium term, with a little more plumpness of flesh than many of its peers are showing at present. | 90
Michael Schuster | Light, red-fruit ripe and gently gravelly nose; medium-full, fresh, and of moderate concentration; fairly dry-edged in tannin texture, briskly ripe to taste, of some complexity and with good length. Good without being special, a slightly rain-affected impression, so a bit austere and thus needing time, but good if the price is right. 2025–35+. | 90
