Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. There’s an expansive warmth and sweetness to the fruit here, which is unusual in the Margaux context. A spice, too, and very nearly a beefiness. Red currant and red plum, as well as blackberry realized with the assurance of full ripeness. This is mouth-filling and ample on the palate. Analytically, the balance still leans toward acidity rather than tannin. Nonetheless, the wealth and teased grandeur of the fruit itself almost succeeds in conveying a warm-vintage amplitude. Very fine for the vintage. | 92
Michael Schuster | Mineral-tinged Cabernet, which promises to be a fine bouquet, if still closed and tight at the moment. Medium-full wine with a very nice fruit core and a fine, gently firm tannin; crisply, juicily ripe in flavor, long to taste, closely wrought, quite complex and with fine aromatic length. This needs a few years, but will be very good. 2025–35+. | 92
