Andrew Jefford | Dark, opaque black-red. Aromatically, we have a sexy Rauzan-Ségla this year, with very sweet cherry fruits and a little milk-chocolate undertow calling you hither. Being Rauzan-Ségla, though, this is done without even the faintest hint of vulgarity; it’s trim and chic, too. Lovely ripeness for the vintage. There’s magnificent density of fruit on the palate, and the aromatic sweetness evident on the aromas retreat toward something a little more sober and pure-spirited, fresh and lively. Svelte tannins, too, impress for the vintage, and this is certainly a mid-term wine. Unquestionably one of the Médoc stars in 2015. | 94

Michael Schuster | Closed to smell, but complexity there, with ripe black fruit and minerals. Fairly full-bodied, but with a freshly defining acidity and a fine, firm tannin; generous, plump, nicely concentrated Margaux, on the more powerful side, sweetly ripe in fruit, long and complex, withatouch of alcohol warmth (for those sensitive to it), and very fine length to finish. Will need time but offer plenty of slightly more powerful Margaux satisfaction given bottle age. 2027–40+. | 93
