Andrew Jefford | Dark, limpid black-red. Typically gruff, meaty Moulis-like aromas over pillows of blackberry and plum. Warm and enticing, though neither “fragrant” nor focused. Soft, deep, dark, and resonant on the palate, close-textured and singing, with lots of black plum and even dark chocolate— and a better sense of texture than its peers. Rich, almost herbal or apothecary notes (spice roots) on the finish. A grand effort here, though not more than medium-term. Fine value, one hopes. | 91
Michael Schuster | A light, blackberry-ripe nose; light, lightly tannic, not much behind here, lacks the depth of the best of the year, and here you do taste the rain dilution a bit; but this is refined and pleasing, with a light, gravelly length. Accessible already, and good Left Bank claret. Now to 2032+. | 87
