Michael Schuster | Those characteristic, very fine “brick-dust” finely gravelly aromas under sweet, plummy-ripe fruit; an immediate alcohol warmth suffuses the palate, but the Haut-Brion delicacy of flavor is there; sweet, pure, transparent, subtly mineral-fragrant, long and graceful across the palate and on the finish. This remains a wine that speaks of its origin, but for my palate it is just a bit marred by the clear “heat” presence, lingering especially on the aftertaste. 2030–50+. | 95
