BUY THE WINE

Michael Schuster | A fine rich, ripe bouquet in the making; full, ample, generous wine, fresh enough, very fine in firm tannin and clearly marked by its alcohol; sweetly ripe, long to taste, complex and complete, with fine aromatic length, but on the finish, too, a touch alcohol-hard and warm and, if you are sensitive to it, faintly bitter. A reflection more, perhaps, of the year than the terroir. But a fine La Mission in its unusually vintage-potent style. 2028–45+. | 94
