Andrew Jefford | Dark, opaque black-red. Chocolatey, truffley, just a little bit oaky, but very sexy all the same. Over multiple sniffings, the oak obtrudes somewhat and the sexiness drops away; there needed to be a little more fruit drive to keep the excitement up. On the palate, this is soft-textured, concentrated, and ripe, once again with just a little bit too much oak in this vintage. | 85
Michael Schuster | Ripe-fruited and gently cedary to smell; full-bodied, moderately tannic, a touch marked by its oak, but sweet and succulent. Plenty of easy, simple, abundantly juicy pleasure here. Drink now and over the next five years. Now to 2024. | 87
