Simon Field: Youthful color and a not unfamiliar precocity on the nose; raspberry compote and bilberry jam; all very agreeable, but maybe lacking the detail and structural integrity for the longer term; the burn on the middle of the palate confirms this thesis. | 86
Andrew Jefford: Saturated dense purple-black. Blackcurrant and fresh, snipped privet; brandied and warm beneath that. Some petitgrain spice behind. Succulent, smooth, dense, forceful, and powerful, with ample ripe black fruits and lots of powerful licorice and clove spice; this is an impressive Port in ripe style, and it will last well, too. | 90
Richard Mayson: Deep, opaque, and dense, fine dense berry- fruit aromas with a lot more to give, closing in; ripe and minty initially on the palate, flesh wrapping the tannins, which rise to a big, solid, explosive finish. Lovely wine for the long term. | 92
