Simon Field: Archetypical, youthful Vintage Port aromas; gum cistus, violets, juniper, and dark-cherry fruit, the merest hint of bitumen, someone working the road quite a way away; modern and approachable for all its youth, plump and seductive for sure, yet with sufficient gravitas to ensure a long, delicious development, which will meander with majestic self-assurance like the great Douro River itself. I love the immense power, precision, and definition, mid-palate especially. One of the most graceful of the big cats—a jaguar, maybe. | 93
Andrew Jefford: Saturated, deep black-red. Hot, slightly muddled scents, with a whiff of tar pole or rubber, as well as some vegetative notes; a fair aromatic profile only. The palate is deep and exuberant but suffers from that same overall rusticity of style. | 82
Richard Mayson: Deep, opaque, inky color; ripe, perfumed, and opulent on the nose, already open and rather gorgeous; full, sweet, and voluptuous on the palate, soft ripe tannins rising in the mouth, with dark-chocolate power and sweetness on the finish. Lovely definition and purity, which can be appreciated now. Impressive. 2025–50. | 92
