BUY THE WINE

Essi Avellan | Medium-deep lemon color. Interesting complexity on the nose, with cool fruitiness, yellow apple, charred tones, mild spice, and generous toastiness. Full, rich, and intense palate, with crisp acidic backbone and good focus. Long, linear, and vivacious. Lovely age-derived complexity and harmony. | 93

Alex Hunt | Quite deep golden color, and a marked nose of fresh apples, presumably a character of the base vintage. On the palate, though, that same character is expressed as an enduring sharpness that has probably been exposed as the wine has aged. This is certainly a good wine, but even at 31 years since the base wine was made, it retains a masochistic quality. | 88

Tom Stevenson | Very youthful fruit. Time has stood still for this malic-influenced 1988-based Non-Vintage blend. Extraordinarily fine, long, and linear. This could easily keep another 10 years. | 92
