Stephen Brook | Aromatic nose, with lavish lime, apple, and apricot and just a trace of grassiness. Rich and broad, this is an opulent style, perhaps a tad too ripe. But it doesn’t lack grip and acidity, and there is some sherbetty extract on the finish that brings a welcome touch of austerity. The fruitiness still dominates, and there’s nothing wrong with that, especially since there is no blowsiness or lack of vigor. Good length. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Pale green-gold. Relatively simple aromas compared to the best of its peers, with sweet jellied-fruit scents the most prominent note. On the palate, too, this is a rather weighty wine without the delicacy, freshness, and sculpted qualities of the very best. Perfectly enjoyable nonetheless. | 85
Stephan Reinhardt | Deep, ripe, and concentrated on the nose, with a hint of oak and wet-gravel notes, this is a round and rather smooth but elegant Monts Damnés, with a pretty tannic and still somewhat astringent finish. Very long and tight, full of character and potential, yet not a wine you have to drink over the next three or four years. | 92
